Fan-Made: Handcrafted in USA for the Gregg Rolie Band

This stylish 20” black leather choker-style necklace with gorgeous earth-tone colors features a handcrafted guitar pick pendant with laser engraving of the Gregg Rolie Band Logo on one side and the Shaman on the other side. Designed and crafted by Jesse Esquivel, he incorporated the Shaman into his art, as the Shaman has been a representational healing and protective figure used by Gregg Rolie since his days with Santana — with some fans even referring to Gregg as a Shaman himself.

The guitar pick is made of the very beautiful, dense and durable exotic Caribbean Rosewood and was independently shaped and sanded super-smooth overall, yet featuring a rough-sanded concave patch in the middle on each side of the guitar pick. The guitar pick is flanked by gorgeous Black Palm and Robles wooden beads—three per side—and dangles from a silver-plated and lightly scrolled bead.

Handcrafted Practice

The guitar pick is treated with a combo of Danish oil & Teak oil, along with a bit of Linseed oil. The pick is soaked to allow the oil to penetrate the wood and is then removed from the oil, wiped and allowed to dry overnight. Once dry, the pick is hand-rubbed with beeswax and mineral oil to further protect the wood and enhance the natural beauty of its color and grain.

My Dad was a cabinet maker by trade, & he taught me at a very early age to never rush a project, & don't even think of cutting corners, & to just let my own creativity & passion drive my woodworking ambitions. His ‘Old School’ ways and work ethic are what drive me today, & I know that with each piece that I produce, there is big part of my Dad in it as well. 

My Dad is retired now, and is over 80 years old, but he still keeps himself busy by helping out everybody he knows whenever he can. Whenever I decide to make something out of rare or very rare wood, I make certain that the wood used is re-claimed, salvaged, or from a sustainable harvest. I really enjoy working in my small ‘One Artisan’ shop, & I hope that you find joy in the products I create”.
